A Beech Island man died Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash in the 2000 block of Pine Log Road in Warrenville.
Eric. E. Scott, 42, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle south on Pine Log Road around 9 p.m. when he attempted to pass a vehicle over double-yellow lines and lost control in a curve, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables. Scott was thrown from the motorcycle onto the northbound lane and run over by a vehicle driving north. He was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be conducted in Newberry and toxicology results are pending, Ables said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
