Cincinnati, OH : Child critical, mother in serious condition after being hit by car in Cincinnati on Saturday night, November 26, 2016
A 3-year-old girl was critically injured in a hit and run Saturday night while crossing the street to the Cincinnati Zoo, authorities said.
Cincinnati police said a family crossing Vine Street in a crosswalk to the Festival of Lights just after 9 p.m. when a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse travelling southbound struck the 3-year-old and her mother.
The driver continued without checking on the condition of the victims, police said.
The girl, identified as Khloe Pitts, is at Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition, police said. The mother, Joy White, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is in serious condition.
The Traverse was found a short time later on E. Shields Street but police have not identified the driver.
Police said that speed appears to be a factor in this crash.
