A 40-year-old woman accused in a fatal hit-and-run in Charleston County has been released.
Alicia Dondrea Mitchell of Hollywood was released on a $75,000 bond on Thursday.
Mitchell was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of hit-and-run accident with death in connection to the March 31 incident in Hollywood which took the life of 24-year-old Jeremiah Carpenter from Hollywood.
The collision happened in the 6100 block of Dixie Plantation Road.
Newly released court records state Mitchell stopped and called 911 following the crash, but left the scene without checking on the victim.
Deputies say Mitchell never returned to the scene.
Investigators found pieces of an SUV which they identified as parts from a Ford Edge produced between 2007 and 2010.
Authorities say they were then able to find a Ford Edge vehicle registered to the sole 911 caller at the time of the collision which was the suspect.
When deputies arrived at the suspect's home they found a 2008 Ford Edge parked in the front yard.
According to investigators, the right front wheel splash guard was missing as well as parts of the car that were found at the collision scene.
