BROCKTON, MA : 4 troopers injured in alleged drunken-driving crash in Brockton on Monday, 15th July 2019

Four state troopers were injured in a crash involving an accused drunken driver early Monday morning.

The troopers were conducting a motor vehicle stop on Westgate Driver (Route 27) in the city about 12:56 a.m. when “they were struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk operator,” state police spokesman David Procopio said in an email.

“The impaired driver’s vehicle, which was traveling north on Route 27, struck the rear of one cruiser, and pushed that cruiser into the rear of the second cruiser that was ahead of it,” Procopio said. “The impact then pushed the second cruiser into the 2011 Subaru Forester that had been stopped by the troopers.”

Police say the driver of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis sedan that struck the cruisers was 26-year-old Frandy Jose Ramirez Rodriguez of Brockton. He was arrested at the scene.
