Troopers are investigating a deadly crash that occurred on Friendship Church Road Monday morning.
The crash happened near Bagwell Road in the Gray Court area around 6:30 a.m.
Troopers said a Kia was heading south and struck a man who was in the roadway.
The man, a 57-year-old Gray Court resident, died at the scene.
Laurens County Coroner Nick Nichols identified the victim as Jose Maximo Yax Alvarado. He said Alvarado was walking to work when he was struck and killed.
