At 11:12 p.m., Steuben County (Indiana) Communications received a report of a motorcycle crash on Fremont Road, north of CR 700 N, in Steuben County
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, “When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they located a 1990 Harley Davidson motorcycle in a field on the west side of the roadway.
“Located next to the motorcycle was (a) male subject … who was found to be deceased,” the SCSO stated in a press release.

“Through the investigation, it appeared Mr. Taylor was traveling south on Fremont Road, when he failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway,” the release continued. “The motorcycle then went off the west side of the roadway, striking a tree head on. The motorcycle and Mr. Taylor then continued, coming to rest in the field.’

Taylor was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office from blunt force trauma.

The crash remains under investigation by the SCSO.
“Taylor was not wearing a helmet at (the) time of the crash,” the SCSO press release stated. “It is unknown at this time if alcohol is a factor in the crash.”
Additional personnel assisting the SCSO at the scene included the Fremont (Indiana) Police Department, the Fremont (Indiana) Fire Department, the Steuben County Coroner’s Office and Steuben County Communications.
