Spring Hill FL : Spring Hill man seriously injured in hit-and-run crash on saturday before 9pm. May 10th 2014.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a hit and run driver.

David Matthew Smith was seriously injured Saturday night when an unknown vehicle veered off Landover Blvd. and struck the 44-year-old Spring Hill resident. The driver failed to stop. Smith was transported to Oak Hill Hospital and later transferred to Bayonet Point Medical Center.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. just north of Thornberry Dr. Smith was walking with 25-year-old Dannielle Nicole Gibbons when the vehicle left the roadway and onto the east shoulder of the road hitting Smith.
