Loveland ,CO :Loveland man dies in crash near Boyd Lake on Friday , June 26th 2015
A 48-year-old Loveland man died Friday morning after a two-car crash just west of Boyd Lake, according to Loveland police.Bruce H. Torres died at the scene of the crash from blunt-force injuries after being partially ejected from the 2001 GMC truck he was driving, a news release said. Police are still investigating the incident.
The crash happened before 7 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Boise Avenue and Silver Leaf Drive in Loveland. A black 2001 GMC pickup driven by Torres failed to stop at a stop sign on Silver Leaf Drive and struck the right side of a gray 2013 GMC pickup that was traveling southbound on Boise Avenue, the release said. Torres' pickup rolled onto its driver's side, partially ejecting him.Investigators say impairment is not likely a factor, but they are trying to determine if he was distracted.
The name of the 52-year-old Loveland man driving the 2013 GMC wasn't immediately available.The intersection of Boise Avenue and Silver Leaf Drive was closed for approximately four hours.
