Lucas County , OH: One woman was Struck and Killed driver of Car lost control of his car in western Lucas County on Sunday morning , January 25th 2015

A woman is dead after the car she was riding in struck a snow plow in western Lucas County Sunday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says John Davis, 22, of Delta, was driving on US 20A near Weckerly Rd. just before noon when he lost control of his car.

Mr. Davis' vehicle struck a snow plow being driven by Adam Vance, 31, of Metamora.

Both Mr. Davis and his passenger, Catherine Lautar, 21, of Liberty Center were thrown from the car even though both were wearing seatbelts.

Ms. Lautar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Davis was taken to UTMC by ambulance.

Mr. Vance was uninjured.

Troopers say speed and weather conditions contributed to the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
