Bath, ME : 70-year-old woman died after struck by a vehicle on Wednesday February 17 2016

A 70-year-old woman died Wednesday morning when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Washington Street heading to work at Bath Iron Works, police said.
The woman, who is from the area but whose name was not immediately released pending notification of family members, was crossing in a crosswalk near the Bath post office when she was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 57-year-old Edward Buzzell of Bath, according to Bath police Lt. Robert Savary.
Buzzell also reportedly works at the shipyard.
Police arrived shortly after the 6 a.m. crash to find the victim unresponsive, lying on the street, and performed CPR until Bath paramedics arrived and took over, but the woman died at the scene, Savary said.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation. Savary said at 8:45 a.m. that no charges had been filed.
