JACKSON, MS : Suspect in custody after 13-year-old intentionally hit by car on Friday, 9th September 2016
Friday evening Jackson police were on the scene, where a 13-year-old was hit by a car on Greenwood Avenue.
Thirty-seven-year-old Cameron Cooper was taken into custody Friday night, after he turned himself in at JPD headquarters.
JPD says charges are pending.
Earlier officials said Cooper intentionally hit the child in a brown Chevy suburban following an unrelated altercation.
Earlier JPD also said Cooper was wanted for two counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
A second victim, whose name is not being released, was identified by authorities.
The incident is being investigated as a hit and run.
The unnamed 13-year-old is in stable condition at UMMC and is being treated for injuries.
