North Greeley, CO : Greeley man killed in crash at O Street and Weld County Road 37 on Saturday, 18th April, 2020

The Weld County Coroner on Tuesday identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening in north Greeley.

Scott Allen Van Winkle, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at O Street and Weld County Road 37, according to a news release from the Weld County Coroner’s Office.

Greeley police Cmdr. Fred Meyer said Winkle was driving a 2006 Pontiac sedan at high speeds, traveling south on Weld 37. Winkle failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with O Street, going off the road and into a field.Winkle was not wearing a seat belt, according to police. A dog that was with Winkle was admitted to a veterinary hospital for observation. No others were involved in the crash.
