Saint Louis County, MN : Two hurt in Gnesen Township crash on Monday afternoon, September 12, 2016
Both drivers were injured when two vehicles collided on Monday afternoon in Gnesen Township.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said Alyssa Haupert, 20, of Lino Lakes, Minn., was eastbound on Emerson Road at 1:22 p.m. and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign at Rice Lake Road. She drove into the path of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources dump truck pulling a heavy equipment trailer that was driven by Matthew Kearns, 34, of Duluth.
Both Haupert and Kearns suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to St. Luke's hospital, the Sheriff's Office said.
Each vehicle appeared to be a total loss.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by DNR officers, the U.S. Border Patrol, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Gnesen Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
