WORCESTER, MA : Sanding truck crashes into Worcester home; driver flees on Tuesday, February 7th 2017
Police in Worcester are trying to figure out what happened to the driver of a street sanding truck that crashed into a house this week.
That's because when officers arrived at the scene Tuesday night, the driver had fled on foot.
Police say the sander was flipped onto its side against the house with salt and sand spilled in the yard. Although the home's roof, siding and trim were damaged, there was no structural damage and none of the occupants was injured.
The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/2lt5NNz ) reports that the sander belongs to a private company whose contract with the city had been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
The city is working with the homeowner and insurance to compensate for the damage.
