Parkton, N.C : One person died in a Single-vehicle accident on Canady Road near Parkton on Sunday night, April 2, 2017

The North Carolina Highway Patrol was working this afternoon to identify the person killed in a single-vehicle accident Sunday night.

According to a report by Trooper M.J. Miles, a 1992 Ford pickup was traveling west on Canady Road near Parkton when it exited the road to the left, struck a ditch and then hit a pole, trapping the driver inside. The patrol did not have a positive ID for the driver, who died at the scene.

The accident occurred at about 11:24 p.m.

The investigation was continuing and some information typically included on the patrol’s report was not available.
