ASHEVILLE, NC : Two children killed crossing street in Asheville on Thursday, December 1st, 2016

The Asheville Police Department said two young children were killed while crossing the street on Thursday.
Officers were dispatched to a collision on Fairview Road around 6:15 p.m. According to investigators, 5-year-old Milena Alejandro-Bautista and 10-year-old Alexander Bautista-Gomez were walking with their 72-year-old grandmother.
The trio reportedly crossed an intersection when they were struck by a driver who did not see them.
Milena and Alexander succumbed to their injuries at Mission Hospital. Their grandmother suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Elvin Hernandez, was arrested for not having a driver's license, police said.
