McNeal, AZ : Local woman killed in accident on Double Adobe Road and McBride on Monday, 30th March, 2020

A local woman has died as a result of injuries she sustained Sunday in a bicycle versus vehicle accident.

According to Carol Capas, spokesperson for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place around 1:25 p.m. on Double Adobe Road and McBride.

Capas states a 2012 GMC pickup was eastbound on Double Adobe Road when the accident occurred. The driver of the pickup, who is not being identified at this time, called in the accident to 9-1-1.

When medics arrived they found a 51-year-old woman with severe head trauma. Medics tried unsuccessfully to revive her but were unable to do so. Capas states the woman is not being identified at this time pending notification of her next of kin.

Capas said the CCSO’s accident reconstruction team was on scene for several hours, during which time Double Adobe Road was closed.

More details on the accident, including the identification of the woman, will be released as it becomes available.
