A man was killed today in a motorcycle crash on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway in Bellflower. The accident occurred about 9:12 a.m. near Bellflower Boulevard, said California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos. The man, in his 40s, died at the scene. It was unclear if the victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of his relatives, was the operator of the motorcycle or a passenger. A second person suffered a leg injury, according to the county fire department. The HOV lane, and the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes, were closed to accommodate investigators. About an hour after the crash, the No. 2 lane was reopened, but the other two lanes remained blocked late this morning, Villalobos said.
