MASSILLON, OH : Man dies when car crashes into an R.G. Drage Career Center agricultural barn off of Nave Road SE near Richville Drive SE on Sunday, 23rd July 2018

A city man was killed early Sunday morning when his vehicle crashed into an R.G. Drage Career Center agricultural barn off of Nave Road SE near Richville Drive SE.

David Warthen, 60, was traveling east on Nave Road when his 2013 Honda Accord veered off the right side of road, continued through a fence and struck the east wall of the red barn, according to Sgt. Josh Edwards, of the Massillon Police Department. The car came to rest inside of the barn, where Warthen was pronounced dead.

The crash was reported at 1:55 a.m. Sunday. Warthen was the only one in the vehicle, said the sergeant, adding that no other vehicles were involved.

Massillon police were assisted at the scene by the city Fire Department and the Stark County Coroner’s Office, Edwards said.
