ORLANDO, FL : Man killed when pickup crashes into back of dump truck in Orange County on Thursday, 27th June 2024

A man was killed early Friday when his pickup truck slammed into the back of a dump truck in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal wreck happened around 5:35 a.m. on Jones Avenue near Jewel Foliage Road in Orange County.

According to a crash report, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Jones Avenue west of Jewel Foliage Road above the speed limit and went into the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle.

When the driver, a 30-year-old Astatula man, reentered the westbound lanes, he failed to slow down for a dump truck that was slowing down and collided with the back of it, troopers said.
