Authorities say a woman was killed and two young children injured in a one-vehicle accident on a rural highway in southern Arizona.

Officials say the accident occurred Wednesday morning on State Route 79 about eight miles north of the junction with State Route 77.

The state Department of Public Safety says the woman wasn't wearing a seat belt and was dead at the scene.

The two children — ages 18 months and two years — are hospitalized in stable condition.
