Memphis, TN : 24- years old solider killed in Motorcycle crash after struck the rear of a Dodge Ram pickup trucknear Old Hickory Boulevard on Sunday evening ,March 15th 2015
Metro police have identified a motorcyclist who died in a crash on Interstate 24 westbound Sunday evening.
Officials identified the crash victim as Ft. Campbell soldier Charles Pusateri, 24, of Bel Air Maryland.
Army officials notified Pusateri's family Monday, police said.
The wreck was reported at about 6 p.m. near Old Hickory Boulevard, according to Metro police.
"Pusateri, who is believed to have been returning to Ft. Campbell, was, according to witnesses, traveling extremely fast when he attempted a lane change and struck the rear of a Dodge Ram pickup truck," police said in a news release Monday. "Pusateri lost control of his 2006 Honda motorcycle and hit a guardrail."
He died at the scene, police said.
The pickup truck received minor damage, as did a Ford SUV that was struck by debris from the motorcycle.
