NORFOLK, VA : 85-year-old woman hospitalized in hit-and-run crash in Norfolk dies on Monday, 18th February 2019

An 85-year-old woman who was hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash in Norfolk earlier this month has died, police say.

Norfolk police said Vinnie Lanier was was crossing the intersection of Wide and Henry streets on Feb. when she was hit by someone driving a silver or grey Nissan Altima. The driver fled the scene.

On Monday, 10 On Your SIde spoke with Lanier's neighbor and friend, Laverne Warren. She says the two women have been friends for 18 years and was devastated to hear of her accident.

"We were supposed to have been together that Sunday night to go to another function in Newport News. But when I heard she had got hit I was really sad," she said.
