Choctaw, OK : Choctaw police officer involved in a serious car accident in southeast Oklahoma City on Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2015

A Choctaw police officer has been involved in a wreck near the Oklahoma City/Choctaw line.

The accident happened on a rural stretch of SE 29th Street near Hiawassee.

Bobby Brinle said the officer rear-ended his truck, causing it to flip. He climbed out the back window and was uninjured.

Brinlee said before the accident he noticed a Choctaw police car driving behind him.

“You always know where the cops are just in case you are speeding or anything ... 'Course I wasn't,” Brinlee said.

He said his turn signal was on when he slowed to turn into his driveway and was hit from behind. The officer's airbag deployed but he was also able to get out of his vehicle.

“First thing he did was come check me,” Brinlee said.

“He's complaining of his back injury a little bit, he's been taken to Saints Central to be checked out,” Choctaw police Chief Conny Clay said about his officer who was involved in the accident.

Clay was also injured in a crash. Last month, a driver running from the law intentionally rammed his vehicle.
