Alexandria , VA : Hamilton man was injured after he crashed his truck on Wednesday afternoon , December3rd 2014
A Hamilton man was "bleeding from just about every place you can see" after he crashed his truck early Wednesday, flipping it about 15 to 20 feet into a creek in rural Campbell County, police said.
The man, about 20 years old, was driving on Creek Trace Drive a few miles outside of Alexandria when he lost control on a curve before John Miller Road, according to Patrolman Tom Lakes of the Campbell County Police Department.
Driving at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, his unfamiliarity with the road likely played a role in the crash, Lakes said.
"Once you get past Alexandria, (the road) gets really narrow and curvy," he said.
"The roads were very slippery -- we just had a rain -- and ... when he came out of the curve apparently he over-corrected and went down into the creek."
The driver became entrapped, and rescue squads had to cut him him free from his vehicle, Lakes said.
Officials took him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with "critical injuries," but he was awake and able to answer questions on the way to the hospital, the patrolman said.
