Des Moines, IA : State troopers are investigating a possibly fatal crash on Friday, October, 13th 2017

State troopers are investigating a possibly fatal crash between a vehicle and a train late Friday night.

The initial call came in around 10:11 p.m., when Wichita County Sheriff's deputies were requested to the area of Johnson Road and West Smith Avenue to assist an accident scene by Iowa Park police and fire departments.

The vehicle came to rest on its side off in the grass near Johnson Road on the opposite side of the tracks from the Sealed Air Corp Cryovac Division.

A Times Record News reporter at the scene saw parts of the vehicle, including a headlight, on the opposite side of the train tracks from the vehicle.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called to the scene to investigate the crash. Officials had not commented about the wreck as of 11:55 p.m. Friday.
