Midland, MI : A single-vehicle traffic crash on northbound US-127 near River Road on Saturday, October, 28th 2017
A single-vehicle traffic crash on northbound US-127 near River Road took the life of a 28-year-old Midland County man on Saturday, according to a press release from the Isabella County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a one-car accident shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday morning. A passerby reported debris in the roadway as well as damage to a guardrail, and discovered a vehicle, a 2017 Chrysler 300c, had rolled into the median. The passerby reported that one man, later identified as Markes Gadlen, 23, of Pompeii, was out of the vehicle and walking about while the driver was trapped inside. First responders were able to free the driver, later identified as Jeffrey Arnold, of Shepherd, and transported him to a nearby emergency department. Arnold died from his injuries a short time later, the release states. Gadlen refused medical attention, according to deputies.
There are no known contributing factors to the crash at this time, the release states. The investigation is under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police, Midland County Sheriff's Office, Mobile Medical Response and MDOT.
