Northwest Indiana, IN : 1 dead after series of crashes on I-65, I-80/94 in Northwest Indiana on Sunday, 10th February 2019

State troopers responded to crashes and slide offs Sunday in Northwest Indiana, including a fatal crash on Interstate 65, police said.

Around 1 p.m. Sunday, Glen A. Sharp, 62, of Wheatfield, was driving a 2008 GMC Sierra south in the right lane on I-65 about 4.5 miles south of the DeMotte exit “when he lost control on the snow covered roadway,” Sgt. Ann Wojas, state police spokeswoman, said in a news release.

A 2019 Freightliner pulling a tank, owned by Genox Transportation Inc. in Deer Park, Texas, and driven by Corey L. Williams, 37, of Charlotte, N.C., was also in the right lane and “could not avoid Sharp’s vehicle and struck the GMC,” Wojas said.
