A Grifton man was killed early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle wreck in southern Pitt County, according to the State Highway Patrol.
Caleb Barnes, 50, was partially ejected from his 2004 Honda when he lost control about 12:17 a.m., the patrol reported.
The wreck happened on Hanrahan Road near Grifton. Barnes was trapped in the wreckage and was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m.
Officials said alcohol was a factor in the crash. There were no other injuries.
