Largo, FL : Daniel Irizzary, 37, dies in a scooter accident with hit-and-run driver at US 19 North and 150th Ave. in Largo on Saturday, September 20, 2014

Investigators with the Largo Police Department are asking for the public's help in tracking down a driver that fled the scene of a fatal crash early Saturday morning. The incident occurred just after 12:30 am near the intersection of US 19 North and 150th Ave. According to a LPD report officers were dispatched to that location in response to a traffic crash. When they arrived at the scene they found the driver of a 2014 Red Bash motor scooter had been killed. Daniel Irizzary, a 37-year-old Largo resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The report states a 2004 Nissan Maxima struck the scooter from behind. The impact ejected Irizzary from the vehicle and into the roadway. The driver of the Maxima immediately stopped but a second vehicle ran over the deceased and failed to stop. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored, four-door compact car that was missing one or more hubcaps. It also had black steel wheels according to witnesses.
