CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY : 1 killed, 1 injured in Calloway County crash on Monday, 27th December 2021

A Murray, Ky. man died and a woman is injured after a crash Monday afternoon in Calloway County.

James L. Sills, 74, of Murray was pronounced dead at the scene by Calloway County Coroner Ricky Garland.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 80 and Bethel Road around 1 p.m.

When deputies from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they found two vehicles with significant damage from the collision.

A preliminary investigation indicates James Sills was driving a brown Chevrolet truck eastbound on Bethel Road and Jordan Abren was driving a black Ford Fusion eastbound on Highway 80. Witnesses to the crash told sheriff’s deputies Sills failed to stop at the stop sign and failed to yield the right of way to Abren’s vehicle.

Jordan S. Abren, 23, of Murray was taken by Murray-Calloway County Emergency Medical Services to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries she received during the collision.
