Arbor, MO : Dexter motorcyclist dies in crash in Cape Girardeau County on Monday, May 23, 2016

A Dexter man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car.

Jacob J. Fields, 25, was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. Monday by Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton at the scene of an accident on Highway 25, two miles south of Arbor. His death is the 23rd fatality in the Troop E area this year.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 5:35 p.m. Monday Fields was driving southbound and was attempting to pass a southbound vehicle driven by Edgar D. Abner, 72, of Oran as Abner was making a left turn. Fields' motorcycle struck the rear of Abner's car causing Fields to be ejected from his motorcycle.
