Waynesboro, GA : Trailer crash closes southbound US 25 lanes in Waynesboro on Monday, 19th November 2018

An 18-wheeler crash has closed the southbound lanes of Highway 25 in Burke County.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Waynesboro police and fire departments and the Burke EMA are currently working an 18-wheeler crash on Highway 25 North (Bypass) near the front of the Walmart Shopping Center.

All south-bound lanes are closed and will remain closed for approximately 3 hours, the sheriff’s office reported around midnight.

The 18 Wheeler was hauling glass and the cleanup will take quite some time. This was a single vehicle crash and the driver has minor injuries, according to a press release from the Burke County sheriff’s office.

Officials request travelers avoid the area.
