KAILUA, HI : Kailua family shaken up after drunk driver crashes into their home and takes off on Thursday, 16th August 2018

A Kailua family is shaken up after they say a drunken driver crashed into their home then took off. The family is on a mission to make sure this never happens to anyone else.

Oneawa Street is one of Kailua's main arteries. Cars come flying by around the clock.

On Wednesday morning, one car plowed right into this home's living room. The impact so hard, the house started to cave in.

"I shouted to the driver, I couldn't really see him through the door, I yelled if he was all right and he apparently started the car, put it in reverse and tore out of here," Rex Hadlich said.
