Four people were killed in two car collisions that happened during the Fourth of July holiday.

Three people died in a single vehicle crash that shut down both directions of Falcon Highway near Sphinx Court in Ellicott Wednesday night, Gazette news partner KKTV reported.

The driver, 30-year-old Jay Dickson of Peyton, started drifting off the road and caused the car to spin off the road when he overcorrected and crashed into a traffic pole. The car ping-ponged against a utility pole, and all four passengers were thrown from the car.
