A 24-year-old Anderson man has been denied bond after being charged with six felony counts of driving while intoxicated in a weekend crash that killed three people.
Multiple media outlets report that Municipal Judge Ken Mattison denied bond on all counts Monday for Riley McDermott. He was charged with three counts of felony DUI resulting in death and three counts of felony DUI with great bodily harm.
Officials say 17-year-old Amber Perkins, 20-year-old Jessica Roberts and 22-year-old Corey Simmonds died in the crash early Saturday.
Warrants stated McDermott's truck crossed the center line and collided with their vehicle. Two others in the car and a passenger in the truck were hospitalized. Mattison denied a request by McDermott's attorney that he be allowed to travel to his permanent home in Florida.
