An Anacoco man died Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash, according to Louisiana State Police.

Timothy C. Pershing, 60, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck eastbound on La. Highway 28 West at Walnut Hill Road around 7 a.m. when he lost control and ran off the road.

The truck hit a driveway embankment, causing it to overturn. It then hit a tree.

Pershing was wearing a seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is continuing.

It's the 25th fatal crash of 2019 in Troop E and the 27th fatality.
