A single-vehicle crash killed a Newberry man early Sunday morning.
Charles Andrew Craine, 25, died after crashing on Mt. Bethel Garmany Road in the Mount Pleasant area, which is about 10 miles northeast of Newberry. He was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer, and was ejected from the vehicle after it overturned, according to Newberry County Deputy Coroner John Pollard.
Craine was not wearing a seat belt and was alone in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, Pollard said.
Officials did not know the exact time of the incident as of Sunday morning, but said it was reported to 911 at 6:58 a.m.
An autopsy is slated for Monday. The coroner’s office and the S.C. Highway Patrol continue to investigate.
