Madison,IL : St. Jacob man dies after being thrown from car in crash on July, Saturday 22th 2017

A St. Jacob man was killed on Saturday night when his car crashed on Illinois Route 162 near Pontoon Beach, the Madison County coroner said.

Jordan L. Wieda, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was thrown from the 2004 Ford Crown Victoria he was driving at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Coroner Stephen P. Nonn said. The crash scene is between Interstate 255 and Illinois Route 157.


An autopsy conducted Sunday showed Wieda died of blunt head and chest trauma, a release from Nonn said. It also said that routine toxicology testing for the presence of alcohol and drugs is pending.

The crash is being investigated by the Illinois State Police.
