Marion, WI : Minnesota woman killed in head-on crash on state Highway 21 in Waushara County on Thursday, July 7, 2016
A young Minnesota driver was killed Thursday when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head on, the Waushara County Sheriff's Department said.
The crash happened about 10 a.m. on state Highway 21 near the intersection of County Road Z in the Town of Marion, Sheriff Jeffery Nett. The woman was from the Twin Cities area.
Two people from Missouri traveling westbound in the second car were injured and taken a hospital in Neenah, one with serious injuries, the sheriff said.
The crash happened in an area where other accidents have occurred, he said. Eastbound drivers travel a flat stretch of road that drops down a hill into a curve and drivers not paying attention can cross the center line, Nett said.
Investigators are trying to determine if other factors were involved but weather at the time was not a problem, the sheriff said.
The name of the woman killed will not be released Friday, he said.
