ENCINITAS, CA : At least 1 killed after semi-truck crash in Encinitas on Monday, 10th April 2023

A stretch of lanes on southbound Interstate 5 was closed for several hours Monday following a deadly semi-truck crash, officials said.

The collision happened around 10:45 a.m. on southbound I-5, near Encinitas Boulevard, Officer Hunter Gerber with California Highway Patrol said in a release.

Authorities say a 40-year-old woman was driving a white Chrysler Pacifica in the fourth southbound lane when she veered onto the right shoulder and crashed into a disabled gray Honda Civic on the right shoulder.
