Butler County, KS : One person killed in head-on collision with semi truck on Highway 400 near Leon on Tuesday evening, February 2, 2016

Butler County officials say an accident involving a van and a semi on Highway 400 just west of Leon, Kansas turned fatal Tuesday evening.

Around 6 p.m. crews were dispatched to the area for an accident with a pinned person in critical condition.

A man was air lifted to a Wichita hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

The man was driving a mini-van going eastbound on Highway 400 and was passing vehicles when he collided head on with the semi.

There were two passengers in the semi who were not injured.
