The driver of a motorcycle involved in a crash Saturday evening has died.
Sgt. H. Cannady with the Highway Patrol said about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler, Dylan McCormick, was making a U-turn at a crossover near Riggs Trail on Carolina Beach Road and turned into the path of a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, Lance Smith, was unable to stop and was ejected from the motorcycle. Smith later died at the hospital.
Cannady said McCormick did not suffer any injuries. He was charged with a yield violation and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
