Pittsfield, IL : Four injured in Pike County crash early Thursday, February 23, 2017
Three Pittsfield residents and a Scott County resident were taken to the hospital early Thursday for treatment of injuries resulting from a single-vehicle crash.
Jessica Gwartney, 33, of Pittsfield, was traveling north on 435th St. just south of 270th Ave. in Pike County when her 2003 Honda van left the road and struck a tree. Illinois State Police responded at 3:39 a.m. and were assisted by the Pike County Sheriff's Department and Pike County Ambulance.
Passengers in the vehicle were James Gwartney, 41, of Pittsfield; Hayden Rumple, 26, of Winchester, Ill.; and Kimberly Manker, 24, of Pittsfield. All four were taken to Illini Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
Jessica Gwartney was issued driving under the influence and improper lane use citations.
The gravel road was dry at the time of the crash. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
