Authorities say a man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 80 west of Laramie.
Sgt. David Wagener with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says the 44-year-old man from Pensacola, Florida was riding in an SUV when the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to go off the interstate early Monday morning. The passenger, who was wearing his seatbelt incorrectly, was ejected and died at the scene.
His name has not been released.
The 25-year-old driver, also from Pensacola, was wearing a seatbelt and was hospitalized.
The crash marked the first highway fatality in Wyoming this year. Five people had died on Wyoming highways by this time last year.
