Providence, RI : 74-year-old grandmother killed in Providence hit-and-run crash on Sunday November 29 2015

Providence police have identified the 74-year-old grandmother who was fatally struck by a motorist in a hit-and-run accident that also injured her granddaughter.
Police said a dark-colored, newer-model SUV collided with Theresa Fernandez and her 31-year-old granddaughter as they crossed the corner of Broadway and Marshall Street in the city's Federal Hill neighborhood around 5:05 p.m. Sunday. The driver fled the scene.
Both victims were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where Fernandez was later pronounced dead. Her granddaughter is reportedly in stable condition.
Police have no further details regarding the vehicle, but say it likely has front-end damage. Authorities continue to search for the driver.
