Hanover, PA : Hanover man dies in Mount Joy Twp. crash on Tuesday, 18th October 2016
A Hanover man died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Mount Joy Township, according to a news release from state police.
Erich Halter, 29, was driving in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue Road around 2:29 a.m. when the 2000 Ford Focus left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the news release. Halter was pronounced dead at the scene due to "multiple blunt force trauma," Francis Dutrow, Adams County chief deputy coroner, said.
The crash also injured the passenger, Ian Crotsley, who was ejected through the side door, according to the news release. Crotsley, 24, of New Oxford was listed in serious condition, according to WellSpan York Hospital.
No autopsy for Halter was scheduled, Dutrow said.
