Seattle, WA: One person injuried,after car crash building,light pole damaged at Aurora Ave. North on Friday February 20 2015.

A man was taken to the hospital early Friday after his car slammed into a light pole and damaged a building, police said.

Officers and medics responded to the scene, the 1900 block of northbound Aurora Avenue North, at about 4:20 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle crashing into a building.

Arriving at the scene, they found that the man's car had struck a light pole, which in turn hit a nearby building. The man's vehicle sustained damage as well.

Police said the driver was pulled from the car and taken to Harborview Medical Center as a precaution.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately known.

One lane of Aurora Avenue was closed for a time during the cleanup and investigation, but has since reopened.
