Jonesboro, AR : One person dead in crash on CW Post Road Monday afternoon, Oct 26, 2015

One person is dead after a car overturned in Jonesboro Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the crash around 4:45 p.m.

A Mitsubishi Eclipse was driving east on CW Post Road when it struck a bridge guard rail causing it to turn over onto it's top and ride the guard rail, according to a news release from the Jonesboro Police Department.

The driver, 24-year-old Brent Gyngard of Caraway was thrown from the car and into the ditch.

Gyngard was pronounced dead on the scene by the Craighead County Coroner's Office.

Dispatch told Region 8 News there has been several crashes since 2 p.m. in Jonesboro.

Officers are warning resident of slick road conditions because of the rain.

It is not clear yet if the crash on CW Post Road was caused by the weather conditions.
