Baton Rouge, LA : Motorcyclist struck and killed by a vehicle on Scenic Hwy on Friday, July 15, 2016

A motorcyclist died after he was struck by a vehicle on Scenic Hwy, officials say.

According to investigators with the Baton Rouge Police Department, the 60-year-old, John Evans, was driving north on Scenic at roughly 7 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a driver in a Ford truck. The truck was attempting to make a left turn onto Harding Blvd.

Evans was transported to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the truck was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.
